in.”

“The service was fast, the severs were nice, it was
exceptionally clean, the food tasted wonderful, and
the mood was spectacular.”

“I loved it!”

At that moment your are sold.

Your subconscious defensive sales guard is down. And
when given the opportunity you will eat at that restaurant.

That was the absolute best sales message anyone could have
given you about that restaurant.

Why?

Because a person that you totally trust and like gave it
a raving review. Keep in mind you were sold without the
the traditional begging, pushing, sales trickery and methods.

Referral Marketing Works

Referral marketing is part of the sales cycle that must
exist in order to really explode your business and sales.

Referral marketing (word of mouth) is absolutely free,
extremely fast, has exponential growth, non-salesy, and
is quite frankly the most effective type of small business
marketing there is.

Word Of Mouth Marketing Works Itself???

Like any other type of marketing, you have to put a system
in place to really see the great results it can offer.

Using surveys is a great way to find out if your customers
will refer you and what they would likely say about your
business.

You can also use those surveys to determine how happy
customers truly are with your product or service and to
determine what your customers see as your businesses
strengths and weaknesses.

Consistency and Commitment: How to get prospects to become rabid customers

1. Prospects and customers are most likely to
buy from who they like and trust.

2. Your past customers are considerably more likely to
buy from you again, than the new prospects that most small
businesses spend all their time chasing.

3. And you already know that there must be a consistent
flow of customers and sales to be profitable in your small
business marketing.

A Powerful Weapon Of Influence

A study done by a pair of Canadian psychologists
(Knox & Inkster, 1968) uncovered something fascinating
about people at the racetrack: just after placing bets they are
much more confident of their horses’ chances of winning than
they are immediately before laying down the bets. Of course,
nothing about the horse’s chances actually shifts; it’s the same
horse, on the same track, in the same field; but in the minds of
those bettors, its prospects improve significantly once that
ticket is purchased….Like other weapons of influence, this one
lies deep within us, directing our actions with quiet power.
It is, quite simply, our desire to be (and to appear) consistent with
what we have already done.

Cialdini, psychology professor at Arizona State University, also
says “Once we make a choice or take a stand, we will encounter
personal and interpersonal pressures to behave consistently
with
that commitment”.

Consistency & Commitment Explodes Small Business Marketing

You can use this powerful weapon of influence in you marketing
by making it as easy as possible for a prospect to commit to a
purchase and become a customer. It doesn’t matter how small the
purchase is.

Just make it easy, simple, and small, but in line with what your
prospects wants.

Once they have made that commitment, the playing field
immediately changes, and there is a high level of trust, liking, and
more importantly, consistency and commitment in your favor to
encourage and advise future purchases.

The Easiest Sell To Make

An upsell is the easiest sell to make. On many occasions, I find that
I get over 50% of my customers to take an upsell I offer.

Why? Because they are in the buying mood, they like and trust
me, and they feel that they have to act consistently with the
commitment they have just made.

Rabid Customers Unite

Once you have a customer, it is easier to sell to them than it is
to sell to a new prospect. With a new prospect, you have to break
through their defenses, through the commitments that they
have made and get them to trust that making a commitment with
you is a good decision.

A past customer already has this relationship with you
and will be more inclined to purchase from you again because
they know what to expect, it’s an easy decision to make, and
because there is a Powerful Weapon Of Influence working
hard on your behalf.

Marketing Secret #7: Let Them Have A Cookie

Do you actually feel loyalty to
your friends and family? Do you resist
change? Do you like to try things before
you buy them?

You’re not alone.

If you found yourself saying yes to any of these
questions while you where reading them, you’re like
everyone else who answers yes.

If your competition is smart thay have developed a
friendship with their customers and they play the
part of trusted advisor in that target market, and
they receive loyalty in return for giving them great
benefits and a great package of services or products.

So, how do you capture those customers?

You don’t. Not all at once!

Will you take a free sample of something at a grocery
store or shopping mall? A free cookie perhaps?

Mrs. Fields built an empire which started by giving
away free samples of cookies in shopping malls to
entice prospects to become customers.

This allows your prospect to take a risk free taste
of what you have to offer. They get to test the waters.

When you answer the door and a stranger is there you
don’t open the door wide. You crack it a little.

As you become comfortable with that person then you open
it a little more. When that person becomes a friend
you open the door and they just come right in. Sometimes
they may even have a key to the door.

But that didn’t all happen at once.

Generally, we want to let the consumer give us a test.

Once you understand this, you will understand that consumers
that like you will have a virtually insatiable desire
for your product or service once they warm up to you.

Unique Selling Advantage: Identify And Integrate To Easily EXPLODE Sales

A unique selling advantage (unique selling proposition) is the one distinct and appealing idea that sets your business apart from every other “me too” type competitor.

Why is establishing one so important for your business? It is the first step in positioning your self in the customers mind as “I am the only one that does what I do”, which gives you a positive distinction from your competition.

Your unique selling advantage motivates your prospects to become customers.

It’s really a single, unique benefit, essence, appeal or promise that your company makes to your prospects. One that no other competitor offers.

Most businesses (99%) can’t really articulate in one to two crisp, concise, clear paragraphs the USA of their product or service. Of those who can, only several even have one. The rest are ineffectively trying to be all things to all people.

Then we wonderful why there is such a high rate of failure for small businesses.

You should have a crisp, niche driven USA. It should be one unique, attractive selling advantage that you’re best suited to deliver to your prospect.

Your USA should be an “elevator speech”. If you get on an elevator and someone ask you what you do, you should be able to tell them concisely and clearly what it is before you get to your specified floor.

It should be so clear and so powerful that they should be asking your “Really? How do you do that?”.

Once you have one, you’ll want to integrate it into every part of your marketing.

How Do You Develop A Unique Selling Advantage?

  • Establish a statement of benefits for your business
  • It’s a list of various strengths that you or your product or service possess
  • Select 3-5 major strengths and formulate then into a cohesive USA
  • Should be based on characteristics that really motivate your prospects to become customers

Your USA is vital to the foundation of your marketing. You must clearly identify and articulate your company’s USA.

Create freedom.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll get up singing a different
tune, share some other secrets.

Because it’s all that matters.

Rant:

I don’t care if you sell groceries
I don’t care if you sell real estate
I don’t care if you sell insurance

You have to understand, grasp, and put into action
good marketing in order to create a business that
explodes with profits.

It doesn’t matter if your a doctor
It doesn’t matter if your a attorney
It doesn’t matter if your a eBayer
It doesn’t matter if your a infopreneur
It doesn’t matter if your a dentist

I’ve never even seen a garage sale that was
successful that didn’t put a sign out or an
ad in the paper.

That’s Marketing

Shoot, you can do $1-2k as a garage
saler a week, if you know how to market
right.

Marketing brings in prospects
Marketing brings in customers
Marketing “brings home the bacon”

You must learn it if you want your business
to survive.

You must learn it to obtain freedom.

Marketing done right frees up time and money.
Marketing done right creates freedom in your
life, both financially and personally.

Your business, and the success of it, effects
your whole life.

Tell me something that you spend more time with,
thinking about, or talking about.

Nothing! Except maybe the freedom you’d like to
create from it.
